The Youth Congress’ Mira Bhayandar unit took out a ‘funeral procession’ of the agricultural bills which were passed in the parliament by the Narendra Modi Government.
Initially, they planned to take the procession from the Congress Office in Bhayandar to the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Ground. However, Bhayandar police detained them, in the mid-way near Bavan Jinalaya.
Youth Congress displayed placards against the bills and central government. They raised slogans like, “Modi jab bhi darta hai, Police ko aage karta hai. The procession to register their protest against ‘the kala kanoon’ was led by Youth Congress President Deep Kakade.
“The farm bill is impractical and against the national cooperative spirit. Nevertheless, farmers are in trouble today and we stand with them,” said Kakade.
“BJP government has a majority, it does not mean that they can continue to enact ‘anti-national’ laws for corporate interest. Youth Congress support the ongoing farmers’ movement in Delhi. Every member of the Youth Congress will fight till the end,” said the Youth Congress President.
The former journalist said, “We are not afraid of this ‘fascist’ BJP government’s persecution. If the farmers can bear the police brutality in Delhi’s cold, then it is our moral responsibility to support them.”
Police has detained Deep Kakade, along with Vice President Anwar Khan, General Secretary Raja Iyer, Kunal Katkar, Ganesh Desai, Ovala – Majiwada Youth Congress General Secretary Sushan Shetty. However, they released later in the evening.
Farmers’ Union has called a ‘Bharat Bandh’ on December 08, Tuesday. However, every opposition parties are supporting the farmers’ union against the agricultural bills.
