Leader of Opposition(LoP) in the Maharashtra Legislative Council Pravin Darekar instructed the members, corporators and workers of the local BJP unit that they should work along with independent MLA Geeta Jain because she is a respected member of the party.
Darekar said this during an interactive dialogue session(Parisamvad) held by Mira Bhayandar Mahanagar Palika Vartahar Sangh, a journalists’ council body. The programme was led by a founder member of the council Rajendra Kamble and the newly appointed president Prakash Naagne. The session was hosted by Milind Limaye, a senior journalist from Mira-Bhayandar.
The council takes on significance following the ongoing battle between independent lawmaker Geeta Jain (who pledged support for the BJP) and her defeated opponent Narendra Mehta, to fight control of the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) intensified each day pass.
Pravin Darekar further said, “Because of groupism, the party is in a loss. People of Mira-Bhayandar want development and Jain have potential and enthusiasm for the development of the twin city. So, everyone should work along with her.”
“Whatever dispute is there will be solved by seniors of the party, however, there will be no two groups here henceforth,” Darekar instructed clearly.
Though LoP was present in the twin city, neither mayor nor ex-MLA came to welcomes him.
Outside of Darekar, lawmakers Geeta Jain and his counterpart Sena’s Pratap Sarnaik who were present in the program quickly responded to questions from the media in the context of their future plans for the full development of the Twin City and the State.
Sena’s legislator, Sarnaik also talk on his ten years of development works in two tenures and informed about the projects in the pipeline. He has done the hat-trick winning from Ovala-Majiwada constituency for Shiv Sena.
Journalists honoured

The parisamvad was organised by the newly constituted council of Mira-Bhayandar Mahanagar Palika Vartahar Sangh whose member are: Prakash Naagne(President), Vinod Mishra(Vice-President), Sachin Sawant (Secretary), Namdev Kashid(Treasurer), Mayur Thakur, Azim Tamboli, Suryaprakash Sandesar. Former presidents of the council and some corporators were also present in the session organised at Nagar Bhavan, Bhayandar West.
