Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray’s rally against the illegal immigrants seem to have renewed enthusiasm of the party members. As Thackeray in his speech mention Mira-Bhayandar as a den for illegal migrants from Bangladesh and Nigeria. Nevertheless, the party’s Mira-Bhayandar unit swung into action immediately and met senior officers of Thane Rural Police and given week time to make the twin city illegal immigrants free.
Activists also met senior Police Inspector of Kashimira, Mira Road, Bhayandar and Naya Nagar police stations seeking immediate action against the illegal immigrants.
In a letter submitted to the senior official, the office bearers of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena gave warning to the police department to make illegal immigrant free Mira-Bhayandar within a week time else they will hush off the illicit refugee in an MNS-style by launching aggressive agitation.
However, a police official said that they are conducting a raid and take action against illegal immigrants under the passport and foreigners act. Police also appealing for information from citizens regarding any suspected immigrants.
In his speech, the MNS chief had said that besides other illegal immigrants, a section of Nigerians had mushroomed in areas like Mira-Bhayandar and adjoining areas and was indulging in drug peddling and harassing women. Several African nationals are suspected to be staying in the Mira Road- Kashimira belt without valid documents.
Ironically, Prasad Surve who left the party to join BJP before the assembly election last year has seen with the delegation. According to the sources, he might do Ghar Wapsi (come back) in the party as unhe woh izzat wahan nahi mili.(He has not received that much respect, which he had here.)
