If precaution taken then Second wave not possible, but we should not be ‘gafil’: Chief Minister

On Sunday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that if precautionary measures are taken and strictly followed the COVID-19 norms then the possibility of a second pandemic wave in the state can be avoided. However, he said that the administration should not be ‘gafil’ (careless) and ready for all the possibility.

“At many European countries, the second wave of the COVID-19 has started. We have to strictly follow the norms given by the government. Then only we can avoid that. However, I should not be careless and be ready with any possibilities,” said CM Thackeray.

“The state government has so far relaxed several curbs. However, the use of a face mask is a must. It should continue for a longer period for the safety of people. We have to make sure that no second wave hits us,” the chief minister said.

“Their relations have brought us so far, without which I would have never become the CM,” he added.

On MLA Geeta Jain’s request that there should be a statue of Shivaji Maharaj installed outside the art gallery, CM said, “I promised that we will consult the architect and try to install the statue of Maharashtra state’s ‘Daivat Devta’ at best possible place in the Late Balasaheb Thackeray Art Gallery.”
