Congress’s flop show: Police stops Party President from delivering speech

A public awareness campaign against the inflation which started on November 14 by the Congress party proved to be a flop show for the consecutive days. The Naya Nagar police interrupted the gathering and stopped the party president from delivering the speech. It also confiscated the banners and the party’s flag.

It is noteworthy that, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the country’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Congress has launched a 15-day movement of public awareness campaign against inflation all over India. On this, grand old party is holding a meeting at every nook and corner. Under this, Congress workers had gathered at Hyderi Chowk, Naya Nagar. As Congress Mira-Bhayandar unit President Pramod Samant started his speech, Naya Nagar Police PI Sayyed Gilani, Ganpat Gajre stopped him.

According to the police sources, “Congress had not taken the permission for the same and political rallies are prohibited at this time. They were also not following the SoPs during the program. Workers were chanting slogans with a face masks.”

Congress had kept a program at Hydari Chowk at 8 pm on Monday in connection with the public awareness movement. However, as soon as the program started, and sloganeering started against the central government, the Naya Nagar police came on the spot and stopped it.

Many corporators and workers were absent in the program. Only corporators Zubair Inamdar, Ashraf Shaikh, Geeta Pardeshi, Rubina Firoz and S A Khan were present.
