AAP, Congress, RPI(A) protest against UP govt in Hathras gang-rape case

Political Parties like Aam Aadmi Party(AAP), Indian National Congress and Republican Party of India (Athawale) have staged a protest against the Hathras Gang-Rape Case.

While AAP protested near Jain Mandir at Ahimsa Chowk of Shanti Nagar on Sunday, Congress agitated against the Hathras Rape case at Saryu Mata Chowk on Monday evening. However, RPI’s Athawale fraction remonstrated near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Statue at Kashimira on Tuesday evening.

The outrage has seen among the common citizen against the Uttar Pradesh government’s barbaric attitude and incitement towards the accused. “People of the Mira Bhayandar show solidarity and support with the victim’s family and demanded the hanging of the accused. I’m asking these culprits, tell me ‘Beti Bachao’ (save daughter) was PM Modi’s slogan or it was a warning,” said Sukhdev Banbanci, Convenor, AAP.

Just as the government tried to defend the accused in the Hathras gang-rape case, there is a lot of resentment among the women. “The Uttar Pradesh government has lost its dignity due to this attitude of Yogi Adityanath. The accused should be hanged at the earliest to instil confidence in women. Aam Aadmi Party is making all efforts to bring justice to the victim’s family and has been protesting in every district in India,” said Rajesh Sharma, Media In-charge, AAP, Mira Bhayandar unit.

Taking a jibe of ‘Beti Bachao – Beti Padhav’ slogan given by PM Narendra Modi, Congress Mira Bhayandar City District agitated with the slogan ‘Beti Bachao’.

“Members of the Congress party had donated bangles in their hands. We will send these collected bangles to PM Modi and Yogi Adityanath on behalf of Mira Bhayandar Mahila Congress. These culprits should get capital punishment,” said Deep Kakade, President, Youth Congress.

Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee(MPCC) Working President Muzaffar Hussain demanded the President’s rule in ‘Law & order’ disturbed Uttar Pradesh. He said, “President should impose his rule in Uttar Pradesh by dismissing the government there. Uttar Pradesh has become the Crime Capital of India. Surprisingly, when the government has to be with the victim, the whole machinery is trying to save the accused.”

“Police should take strict action against the accused. The government should immediately provide security to the victim’s family,” demanded Hussain.

The agitation was led by Pramod Samant, President, Mira Bhayandar Congress and Lilatai Patil, President, Women’s wing, Congress.

RPI(A) protested

On the instruction of Party Chief Ramdas Athavale, a protest was held at Kashimira Naka on Tuesday.  RPI’s Mira-Bhayandar district President Devendra Shelkar demanded to take stern action against the culprits in the Hathras gang-rape case. Devendra Shelkar said, “The culprits, who gang-raped an innocent girl from Hathras should be sentenced to death.”

Protestors submitted a memorandum to the Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Hazare demanding death sentence for the accused. B Suryavanshi, Raju Waghmare, Praful Waghela, Subhash Shikhare, Arun Dabhade, Vanmala Sonwale, Ganesh Chavan were present at the venue. Love Bhat, Ilias Sheikh, Satish Jaiswal, Baliram Ingle, Shrikant Mane, Jagdish Bhavsar, Vicky Vatore, Vijay Gupta, Bholeshwar Yadav, Bapu Kamble, Mukesh Kambli, Sonawane and all other activists were present in large numbers.
