Fugitive underworld Don and Dawood Ibrahim close aide Chhota Shakeel’s younger sister Fahmida Shaikh died at a hospital in Mira Road. She died on Wednesday afternoon.
Fahmida Arif Shaikh(45) was admitted to Tunga Hospital in Mira Road after developing chest pain. However, sources said, “She was suffering from pneumonia. She died in the afternoon at 3 PM.”
However, COVID-19 test has been done on her, the report of which has not come yet. Sources said that the family is awaiting the report of Fahmida.
Fahmida was the youngest sister of Mohammad Shakeel Babumiyan Shaikh alias Chhota Shakeel(65). Fahmida was the wife of Arif Shaikh alias Bhaijaan. He is a former executive of Dawood Ibrahim gang. Now, Arif is running a real estate business in Mira Road.
Fahmida was residing in Dubai with Arif before settling in Asmita Orient in Naya Nagar, Mira Road. Arif was deported to Mumbai in connection with an extortion case in 2006.
Chhota Shakeel, who is believed to be in Pakistan, had words with Arif, after she breadth her last. According to sources, Chhota Shakeel not believed in the theory of her natural death and reportedly said that he will be waiting for her medical report.
Couple of years ago, Arif was arrested in another extortion case, again.
Underworld sources said that Fahmida was the most loved by Shakeel. As she was the youngest among the four siblings (Shakeel has another brother and a sister).
Shakeel Saw his father last rites
In 2011, Shakeel’s father Babumiya Shaikh had passed away at the age of 83. He was admitted at the JJ Hospital. Sources, then told the reporter that, Chhota Shakeel saw the last rites of his father through video conferencing. According to the police sources, “We cannot deny that he might see the last rites of his sister through the video call.”
