Kashimira Police has arrested two persons and rescued two women from a My Home Lodging and boarding Facility, which was allegedly being run as a brothel in Mira Gaonthan area of Mira Road on Tuesday. Kashimira police personnel raided the premises situated on Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway and rescued two women from the lodge.
“The police found that the owners of the establishment were running a brothel and forcing women into flesh trade, said Sanjay Hazare, Sr PI, Kashimira Police Station.
The police have arrested Shankar Chintaman Yadav (Manager, 37) and Bablu Vaijnath Sav (waiter, 25) for their involvement in facilitating prostitution activities at their establishment. As usual, the owner of the lodge Kiran Makwana has been absconding. However, police informed that he has been one of the accused in the FIR.
Following a tip-off, police raided My Home Lodging and Boarding which was being used as a front for operating a prostitution racket. Under the guidance of senior Police Inspector Mr Hazare, a team was form led by Police Inspector (Crime) Vijay Pawar and API Sudarshan Potdar.
Police sent a decoy customer to the My Home. After striking a deal with the hotel staff, the decoy customer hinted the police team. Then police team plunged on the lodge on Tuesday afternoon.
Police arrested the duo under section 370 of the IPC and sections 3, 4, 5 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA), 1956.
Police have rescued two women (aged 22 and 27) from the racketeers’ clutches. Probing officer Vijay Pawar further investigating the case.
