The newly formed Mira Bhayandar Police Commissionerate ranks first, while the Amravati Commissionerate ranks second. Nagpur Police Commissionerate is sixth in the state and Nashik Police Commissionerate is last. The conviction rate of the MBVV Police Commissionerate is 89.63 per cent. Seriousness in convictions

Investigating officers keep changing after the crime is reported to the police station and the chargesheet is prepared. Therefore, there is no regularity in the investigation. “Some officers are conducting a thorough investigation. Therefore, the case survives in court. Police officers need to be serious about increasing convictions. Otherwise, the accused is more likely to leave the court,” said the officer, on anonymity.

“Under an able chief, who has vast experience of national policing and thorough terrorism investigation, this has happened,” said the officer.

“The scrutiny of legal experts sought to increase the conviction rate. The indictment is examined by legal counsel and senior police officers. We are working harder to increase the rate of convictions in the future,” added the officer.
