A 30-year-old jobless, depressed and former bank executive man allegedly committed suicide by hanging self at the shop’s shed away from his house on the wee hours of Monday near Gulistan locality, Naya Nagar, Mira Road. A suicide note was recovered from the pocket of the pant.
Police said that the deceased Salman Sabir Sayyed (30) resides with his family at Anurag building, in Ganga Complex at Naya Nagar.
Police said that the incident came to light around wee hours of Monday when people spotted him hanging from the shop’s ceiling of the rod. Witnesses informed the Naya Nagar police about the incident.
The incident took place near Gulistan Complex in Naya Nagar area, about 150 meters away from his locality. Police said that he had lost his Bank Executive job in Abu Dhabi, UAE after the lockdown declared there. Due to which, he slipped into depression. Cops suspect that he ran out of money due to unemployment. During the investigation, it came to the fore that the deceased used to say his father that, he became a burden on the family. The former employee of Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) was single.
Police found a visiting card from his pocket. In which, he wrote that he is jobless and depressed and no one will be held responsible for my extreme step.
He picked up milk crate from the shop and put the nylon rope in the rod to make a noose. He stands on the crate and pushes that. With the help of locals, police brought down the dead body of Salman. Body sent for the autopsy at Themba Hospital, Bhayandar (West).
Further investigation is on, said the police.
Depressed youth
When Mibhatimes.com went through his Facebook Profile, we found that he has posted about 30 posts on Sunday. In which, most of them were motivational. Some were religious. He posted some posts on sports personalities including Dhoni’s retirement. In one of the post, he posted, “Imagine sitting with the Prophet (PBUH) near the rivers of Jannah, listening to His stories… May Allaha Grant us this”.
