The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) Commissioner in his latest order has further extended the complete lockdown till May 08. However, there are some relaxations given to supermarket, groceries stores on the terms of following social distancing strictly.
According to the order, all shops including meat, fruit & vegetable markets have been ordered completely shut till mid-night of May 08. The relaxation has been given to supermarkets, groceries stores, medical stores, Bakery and dairy have been allowed to remain open. Home delivery of essential services including non-veg has been allowed between 9 AM to 11 PM. One can order through MBMC official mobile app or on-call mobile numbers issued by the Corporation and police stations.
MBMC has also stated that vehicles of essential service workers and goods will be allowed to move in and out of the area. Commissioner advised all people to remain indoors. MBMC has stated that anyone breaking the order will be punished under the Maharashtra COVID-19 Epidemic Act 2020 and under section 188 of the IPC.
What will be closed
In an order issued by the Municipal Commissioner Chandrakant Dange on Tuesday, stated that all fish, mutton and chicken shops will be kept closed from Sunday mid-night onwards until May 08 mid-night. In the same way, fruits and vegetable shops including special market set up by MBMC will also remain closed.
“However, home delivery of groceries, vegetables, bakery products and non-veg will be allowed. The orders can be placed through the MBMC Home Delivery app or on calls. The delivery will be allowed between 9 AM to 11 PM only. The numbers had been circulated through social media in PDF format, earlier,” said Commissioner Dange.
What will be opened
Given relaxation to Kirana, grocery shops including supermarket like D-Mart, Big Bazar, Star Bazar will remain open from morning 9 AM to afternoon 3 PM. Medical Stores, Bakery and dairy will also be given relaxation and remain open during the complete lockdown extended period. However, maintaining social distancing is a must. Medical stores will remain open from 9 AM to 9 PM. While dairy stores will remain from 7 AM to 11 AM. However, the bakery will remain open from 9 AM to 3 PM. Flour mills (Atta chakki) will remain open as usual. Nevertheless, medical stores inside the hospitals will remain open 24 hours. In case of emergency, one can buy the medicines from there. Licensee medical having permission to remain open for 24 hours can be open for 24 hours.
