Total lockdown extended till April 28 in Mira-Bhayandar

The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) Commissioner in his latest order has extended the total lockdown till April 28.

According to the order, all shops including groceries, meat, fruit & vegetable markets have been ordered completely shut till mid-night of April 28. Only medical stores and dairy have been allowed to remain open. Home delivery of essential services has been allowed between 9 AM to 5 PM by ordering through MBMC official mobile app or on-call mobile numbers issued by the Corporation in PDF format.

MBMC has also stated that vehicles of essential service workers and goods will be allowed to move in and out of the area. Commissioner advised all people to remain indoors. MBMC has stated that anyone breaking the order will be punished under the Maharashtra COVID-19 Epidemic Act 2020.

What will be closed

In an order issued by the Municipal Commissioner Chandrakant Dange, stated that all fish, mutton and chicken shops will be kept closed from Friday 6 am onwards to April 28 mid-night. He also stated that Kirana, grocery shops, bakery including supermarket like D-Mart, Big Bazar, Star Bazar will also remain closed for the same period. In the same way, fruits and vegetable shops including special market set up by MBMC will also remain closed.

“However, home delivery of groceries, vegetables, bakery products will be allowed. If orders placed through MBMC Home Delivery app or on calls from MBMC provided numbers. The numbers have been circulated through social media in PDF format. The delivery will be allowed between 9 am to 5 pm only,” said Commissioner Dange.

What will be opened

Medical Stores and dairy will remain open during the total lockdown period. However, maintaining social distancing is a must. Medical stores will remain open from 9 am to 5 pm. While dairy stores will remain from 7 am to 10 am. Nevertheless, medical stores inside the hospitals will remain open 24 hours. In case of emergency, one can buy the medicines from there. Till date, 116 coronavirus positive cases found in twin city.

While CM Uddhav Thackeray has extended the lockdown till April 30, PM Narendra Modi announced it till May 03.
