Total Lockdown Extended Further till May 03, but with Ramzan relaxation

The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) Commissioner in his latest order has further extended the total lockdown till May 03. However, there are some relaxations in the timing considering the ongoing Ramzan Month.

According to the order, all shops including groceries, meat, fruit & vegetable markets have been ordered completely shut till mid-night of May 03. Only medical stores, Bakery and dairy have been allowed to remain open. Home delivery of essential services has been allowed between 9 AM to 11 PM by ordering through MBMC official mobile app or on-call mobile numbers issued by the Corporation and police stations.

MBMC has also stated that vehicles of essential service workers and goods will be allowed to move in and out of the area. Commissioner advised all people to remain indoors. MBMC has stated that anyone breaking the order will be punished under the Maharashtra COVID-19 Epidemic Act 2020 and under section 188 of the IPC.

What will be closed

In an order issued by the Municipal Commissioner Chandrakant Dange on Tuesday, stated that all fish, mutton and chicken shops will be kept closed from Tuesday mid-night onwards until May 03 mid-night. He also stated that Kirana, grocery shops including supermarket like D-Mart, Big Bazar, Star Bazar will also remain closed for the same period. In the same way, fruits and vegetable shops including special market set up by MBMC will also remain closed.

“However, home delivery of groceries, vegetables, bakery products and non-veg will be allowed. The orders can be placed through the MBMC Home Delivery app or on calls from MBMC. The delivery will be allowed between 9 AM to 11 PM only. The numbers have been circulated through social media in PDF format,” said Commissioner Dange.

What will be opened

Medical Stores, Bakery and dairy will remain open during the total lockdown period. However, maintaining social distancing is a must. Medical stores will remain open from 9 AM to 9 PM. While dairy stores will remain from 7 AM to 11 AM. However, due to the ongoing Ramzan month, the bakery will remain open from 2 AM to 4 AM. Flour mills (Atta chakki) will remain open as usual.

Nevertheless, medical stores inside the hospitals will remain open 24 hours. In case of emergency, one can buy the medicines from there. Till date, 152 coronavirus positive cases found in twin city. On Tuesday, seven new corona positive cases found in Mira-Bhayandar.
