Military Guidance Centre for youth to be started soon in Mira Bhayandar: Sarnaik

A foundation stone lay down or ‘Bhoomi Puja performed’ for the memorial saluting Gallantry Awardee Major Kaustubh Rane’s bravery on his third Martyr Day at Mira Road by his family on Saturday. On the occasion, MLA Pratap Sarnaik informed that a special military guidance centre to be started soon in Mira Road as there are many aspirants for the defence services.

“There are many aspirants who want to join the army. However, lack of knowledge and without proper guidance, they failed to crack the army test. I assure you that, soon there will be a proper military guidance centre for the aspirants,” said Sarnaik.

Immediately, approving the proposal of the legislator, MBMC Commissioner Dilip Dhole said, “I am affirmative on the suggestion. Soon, we will provide the location for the centre.”

Major Kaustubh Rane, a courageous soldier accepted the martyrdom on August 7, 2018, while fighting with terrorists in Kashmir. A ‘Martyr’s Memorial’ is coming up to preserve the memory of Kaustubh Rane. Today, a memorial Bhoomi puja was held in reservation number 269 park, at Kanakia Road. The martyr’s mother Jyoti Rane, father Prakash Rane and other family members have laid the foundation stone of the memorial.

Slogans like ‘Kaustubh Rane Amar Rahe’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ were chanted.

Earlier to this program, a tribute was paid to Major Kaustubh Rane at ‘Shaheed Smarak’ near Mira Road Railway Station by Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) on his third Martyr Anniversary.  

“The speciality of the memorial will be that the flame in the middle of this monument will be ignited 24×7. This memorial will continue to inspire the coming generation, the memory of the martyrs will be awakened here,” said Pratap Sarnaik.

Will complete soon

MLA assured that the work of the memorial will be completed by February 27, the birthday of Kaustubh Rane.

 “Parents of Kaustubh Rane have suggested that a building should be set up in Mira Bhayandar to guide the needy youth. They should be guided at the centre for military recruitment and competitive examinations,” said Shiv Sena legislator.

“Every countryman feels proud of Kaustubh Rane’s courageous act. His life is an inspiration to every young person. The municipal corporation will be responsible for the regular maintenance, upkeep and cleanliness of the monument. However, the locals should also take care of it,” said Mr Dhole.
