Devendra Fadnavis teaches protocol lesson to MBMC Commissioner

Devendra Fadnavis

MBMC has scheduled a ceremony on Monday and inaugurated various developmental projects including- Buddha Vihar, a swimming pool, distribution of flat keys to slum dwelling beneficiaries under the BSUP project and the 90-meter hydraulic aerial ladder platform (HALP) firefighter. Leader of Opposition in Assembly Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister of State Ramdas Athawale, Union Minister of State Kapil Patil, Leader of Opposition in Council Pravin Darekar, Shiv Sena MP Rajan Vichare, MLA Geeta Jain and MLA Pratap Sarnaik were present on the occasion. While speaking in this program, Devendra Fadnavis got angry with the Municipal Commissioner for not following the protocols. There were four names as inaugural persons on the invitation cards. Fadnavis said he is not upset with that. However, there is only one inaugurator, he told angrily to the commissioner from the podium.

Former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, “Any inauguration should be done by one person. There are four inaugurators on the invitation card. So, I don’t know exactly who the inaugurator is. Yes, out of four anyone will inaugurate then also there is no problem. However, you have shown four inaugurators in it. I’m not upset as I get too many opportunities for the same. The issue of the protocol has come up and you should know what protocol is. In Municipal Corporation, the mayor has the right to invite the inaugurator and everyone has to follow her.”

Poetic skills from leaders

On this occasion, Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik said that when Devendra Fadnavis was the Chief Minister, he paid 70 per cent attention to former MLA Narendra Mehta and 30 per cent attention to me. This created a swimming pool in the city of Mira Bhayandar. I also request Kapil Patil and Athawale Saheb to pay attention to the city so that there will be a good development in the city. Four dignitaries Mr Athawale, Mr Patil, Pravin Darekar and Pratap Sarnaik have shown their poetic skills from the dais.
