The Uddhav Thackeray-led State Government has sanctioned Rs. 25 Crores for the Balasaheb Thackeray Art Gallery in Mira-Bhayandar. In a recent meeting, the Chief Minister has given orders to the Chief Secretary of the state to review the development works at the site and inform him.
Giving information about the recent development Pratap Sarnaik, who is constantly trying to set up the Art Gallery in the name of Late Balasaheb Thackeray, said: “CM has sanction Rs.25 crores and orders to review the work to the Chief Secretary. We will try to start work as soon as possible.”
MLA Sarnaik had proposed to Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) in his previous term to reserve the Reservation No.122 at Bhayandar(East) for the grand Art Gallery in the memory of Shiv Sena’s founder. For this, Sarnaik has allocated Rs. 25 lakhs from his MLA fund. Whereas MP Rajan Vichare sanction Rs. 25 lakhs from MPLAD and four of the MBMC’s Shiv Sena Corporators had submitted Rs. 12.50 lakhs each from their allocated funds.
Sarnaik attempts to make the Art Gallery equipped and grand. Due to this, MLA Sarniak was constantly demanding that the state government should provide Rs.25 crores for this work. However, the fund had not been approved by the previous state government led by Devendra Fadnavis.
A meeting was held to review the development works in Thane district under the chairmanship of CM Thackeray. MLA Pratap Sarnaik, who was present at the meeting, demanded that the state government should provide Rs. 25 crores for the Balasaheb Thackeray Art Gallery. Immediately, Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde also seconds him. Within a second, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray directed the Chief Secretary to allocate Rs 25 crore for the art gallery.
What Sarnaik Says
“Now, we will try to get the work done as soon as possible. This would be an inspiration for artists, art lovers in this city of Mira-Bhayandar. The centre for senior citizens, a large library with vintage books, a place to organize various activities for children, a special section for the science centre, a museum, an e-library as well as a place to showcase their art, special facilities for sculpture, special sculpture hall will be there,” said Sarnaik.
“There will be special sections for listening to old songs as well as old speeches by legendary and visionary leaders,” added Sarnaik.
The Principal Secretary, Chief Secretary, Guardian Minister, Mira Bhayandar Municipal Commissioner Chandrakant Dange and other senior officials were present at the meeting organized by the Chief Minister Thackeray.
