Muzaffar Hussain, Working President of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has alleged that the Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) is Bhartiya Janata Party’s (BJP) sponsored party.
Muzaffar Hussain, while speaking at the function organised by the Mira-Bhayandar District/City Congress Committee said, “The Hyderabad based party just comes out at the election period and helps the saffron party to polarise the votes by spreading the hatred.”
“Earlier, you have seen the same in Lok Sabha elections then assembly elections of Maharashtra and Bihar. Now, you will see in West Bengal. One comes from Darussalam while others come from Hedgewar Bhavan. They meet, plan, execute, polarise and help BJP and go back to Hyderabad and Nagpur,” said the former MLC Hussain.
Nevertheless, the target was not unintentionally. MPCC has appointed its working president as the in-charge of the Aurangabad Municipal elections scheduled this year. “AIMIM has 26 sitting corporators in the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation and second-largest party there. Ironically, the BJP – Shiv Sena alliance are sharing the power at AMC. Congress has a direct fight with AIMIM there,” said Parvez Khan, political commentators and senior journalist from Aurangabad.
However, when mibhatimes.com contacted AIMIM Maharashtra President Imtiaz Jaleel for his comments on the allegation, the lone ‘Majlis’ MP from the state said, “We don’t respond to the barking dogs. How can one alleged without any evidence?.”
Nevertheless, the former journalist, who was busy in Ahmedabad, for election purpose disconnect the phone after the comments.
Those wishing to join back are welcome
“You will see a complete makeover of the Congress party in a few days. As you see today, we are under process. Those who wish to join the Congress back are welcome. The party doors are always open to them. However, they have to left the strain of other ideology outside,” said the Congress’ state Working President.
The former deputy mayor of MBMC ‘Sayyed Sahab’ as he fondly called as also expressed his views, saying that the Congress party fought the assembly elections to keep the city’s fighting spirit alive and show its place to the corrupt. Without naming the former MLA, Hussain said, “You trusted the ‘Towel Baba’ and see where he left you in the quagmire of corruption. Congress has always worked for the development and betterment of the twin city.”
Hussain said the Congress had constructed roads, hospitals, schools, transport services and brought additional water supply schemes to Mira-Bhayandar. However, the BJP had only misled the people by displaying banners.
