MLA Pratap Sarnaik claimed that the government has sanctioned Rs 1.75 Crores for ‘Warkari Bhavan’ to be constructed in Mira Bhayandar.
As ‘Agri Bhavan’ which was approved many years ago, ‘Hindi Bhavan’ which has been dragged into controversy, Maratha leaders demanded ‘Maratha Bhavan’ and MLA Geeta Jain’s ‘Mahila Bhavan’ at Balasaheb Thackeray Art Gallery yet to get approval, Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik has tossed for Warkari Bhavan and claimed that the government has sanctioned a fund of Rs 1.75 crores for the same.
He claimed that a ‘Warkari Bhavan’ will comes up in Mira Bhayandar and a special fund of Rs. 1 crore 75 lakhs including MLALAD and MPLAD have been sanctioned for this. “Work on Warkari Bhavan will start soon in the twin city. This decision has been welcomed by the members of the Warkari sect,” said Sarnaik.
A place has been approved for the construction of ‘Warkari Bhavan’ near Mumbai Ahmedabad National Highway. Recently, in the general body meeting at Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has also nodded for the Bhavan. MLA Sarnaik said, “I was trying for it from last 10 years. The state government has also given official approval in this regard.”
Besides special funds, Sarnaik’s Rs 25 lakh MLALAD fund, MP Rajan Vichare’s Rs 25 lakh MPLAD fund, MLA Ravindra Phatak’s Rs 25 lakh MLALAD fund, a total of Rs 1 crore 75 lakh has been made available for ‘Warkari Bhavan’. “Now, the tender process will be initiated and the work will start in January,” informed MLA Sarnaik.
The Warkari sect has a glorious heritage of hundreds of years in Maharashtra.
What Warkaris can do here?
Wari is a religious and cultural tradition in Maharashtra. This Wari occurs both on the Ekadashi of the month of Ashadi and Kartik. “Warkari Bhavan will be the rightful place for the members of the Warkari sect in Mira Bhayandar. This community hall will be the place for all the religious activities like Bhajan-Kirtan, sermons, throughout the year,” said the MLA from Ovala-Majiwada.
Various programs of Warkari sects will be held in this Warkari Bhavan. “Young worshipers can also associate with the Warkari community. Therefore, this Bhavan will be very useful for all the devotees, said Sarnaik, adding that warkaris can also take dindi here during the months of Ashadi and Kartik.
