Good News: Mira Road Station gets a new pair of escalators

Shiv Sena MP Rajan Vichare inaugurated a pair of escalators at the Mira Road Railway Station through videoconferencing on Friday. The escalators inaugurated through the hands of Independent MLA from Mira Bhayandar Geeta Jain. The automatic staircases situated at Platform Nos 2-3 and the exit point of Mira Road’s Churchgate end.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajan Vichare said these facilities would prove a boon for the passengers at this station. “Senior citizens, women and sick people would find it more convenient to move from one platform to another with the help of escalators,” he said.

The escalators were built by MP Rajan Vichare’s MPLAD funds. With the inauguration of these two escalators, now the total count of the escalators at Mira Road Station reached to three.

Vichare said, “Mira Road and Bhayandar Railway Stations should be facilitated with all the possible amenities. Senior citizens and handicapped people should easily get access to the platform and freely can travel. After office hours, commuters also feel tired. They should also elevate up easily.

After cutting the ribbon, Geeta Jain, MLA from Mira Bhayandar said, “I, on behalf of Honourable MP Rajan Vichare, inaugurated the automatic staircases. This is the best Diwali Gift from him to the Citizens of Mira Road. In the same way, we planned to gift the escalators to people of Bhayandar. However, there are some problems due to space constraints and we are in talks with General Manager, Western Railway and will solve it soon. Significantly, the concerned authority has passed Mr Vichare’s MPLAD funds for the same.”

On the Occasion, MVA post holders from the local unit were present. Many corporators in MBMC mark their presences at the event.
