Acting on a tip-off, the Mira-Bhayandar Vasai-Virar (MBVV) police raided Tanishq Spa in Beverly Park and found five women, including three Thai nationals, at the establishment.
“While the women were rescued, three accused, Akshaykumar Raina including two women, were arrested for allegedly operating a flesh trade racket at the spa,” said Sandip Kadam, Sr. PI, Mira Road.
Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Sandip Kadam deputed a decoy customer to establish contact and strike a deal. with the spa operator.
“A decoy customer was first sent to the Tanishq spa for confirming that the racket is active there. Subsequently, police conducted a raid after dummy customer confirmed about the racket on Tuesday,” said Kadam.
Police team swooped down on Tanishq Spa located on the first floor of Poonam Square in Beverly Park, Mira Road. Police caught the trio red-handed while accepting money for the rendezvous.
The cops rescued five women, including three from Thailand and other locals, in the age group of 35-40, police said.
“An offence under relevant sections of the IPC and Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) has been registered,” said Kadam.
