Receiving a tip-off that a prostitution racket was active, Kashimira police on Friday night raided a spa at Akruti Hubtown Gardenia in Mira Road. They rescued two women and arrested two persons including owner from Relax Spa in Akruti Hubtown Gardenia.
Kashimira police rescued two women hails from Uttar Pradesh. Acting on a tip-off, Police on Friday raided the spa situated at Building No. 13 in Akruti Hubtown Gardenia. The arrested accused have identified as Anand Kumar Girishchand Rai (owner, 35) and the manager of the spa. Both are residents of Bhayandar (East).
The women told that she was brought from their village on the pretext of giving job in the spa. However, they forcibly put in the flesh trades.
The police said Rai recruited women as massage therapists in the spa. He also offering them extra money for satisfying the physical needs of the patrons. However, the spa charged customers Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 for satisfying their physical needs. Nevertheless, the Relax Spa provides rooms inside the establishment to the customers.
“The Police has raided the spa after a decoy customer went inside and informed us about the activities. After he gave a signal to us, we conducted a raid at the spa. We caught them red-handed,” said Sanjay Hazare, Senior Police Inspector, Kashimira Police Station.
Police have carried out Covid-19 test of all the accused, while the police have sent the women to the correction home.
Hazare said, “The rescued women have told us that they were sexually exploited at the spa. However, we are trying to trace those who had involved in trafficking women.”
Accused booked under sections
Police have registered a case against the accused under section 3, 4, 5 of the Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act. Police have also charged them under section 34 and 370(3) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
