The thieves have break-ins into 13 shops by moulding shutters with the rod in Kanakia area of Mira Road. They entered into the shops and fled away with the cash kept in safe. However, the whole incident has been captured in the CCTV camera outside the shop.
Police said the accused had face masks and caps, so no one has been identified. However, they were in about 4 to 5 numbers.
According to the sources from Mira Road Police Station, the incident took place in the Jangid Enclave of Kanakia area between 12 to 4 am on the night of December 03. The thieves, in turn, broke the shutters of 13 shops and disappeared with the cash. It is not yet clear how much cumulative cash they had taken from the different shops. However, the estimated amount comes between 5-6 lakhs.

A mini tempo carrying eggs tumbled near Ghodbandar village on Western Express Highway in Mira Bhayandar. Commuters on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad NH8 Highway were seen driving their vehicles over eggshells on Thursday afternoon.
No casualty was reported. However, the accident led to slow down the movement of the vehicle for some time resulting in a traffic jam on the highway. The accident took place at around 3.30 pm near Versova Bridge, Fountain Hotel in Mira Road.
Good Samaritan played an important role to clear the traffic congestion before Kashimira Traffic police reached the spot.
Sex racket busted in the posh locality in Mira Road; 3 rescued, 4 arrested
A team of the Anti-Human Trafficking wing of the Mira Bhayandar-Vasai Virar (MBVV) Police has busted a high profile prostitution racket that was being operated from a posh residential area under Kashimira police station limits on Thursday.
After a decoy customer sent by the police hinted about the authenticity of the information a team led by Senior Police Inspector D S Patil raided the flat in a housing complex located in the Hatkesh area.
The police team rescued three women. Police has arrested four people including three women and the kingpin. However, the accused booked under the relevant sections of the IPC and PITA.
Police sent the rescued women to the correction centre. The case transferred to the local police station and API Handore further investigating the case.
