A total number of infected with COVID-19 cases rise to 15 in Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation(MBMC) jurisdiction. Five members of the same family have been diagnosed with Corona Virus infection. There has been a spike of 7 positive cases in the last 24 hours. Sunday began with reports of new people testing positive in RNA Broadway, Nityanand Nagar, Medhitya Nagar and Narayan Nagar area of Mira-Bhayandar.
With this, the local administration intensified the quarantine process and declared more areas as a containment area and sealed it. In its fresh order, Commissioner Chandrakant Dange has reduced the essential commodity shops working hours along with vegetable markets from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm except for chemist shops. The violators will be booked under section 188 of IPC.
In his earlier order, he asked the committee members of the societies to arrange essential commodities and vegetable vendors in the society and appoint two volunteers to help society to buy and deliver the products.
Five members of the family have been tested positive in Narayan Nagar area of Bhayandar (west), where a 60-year-old housewife was confirmed as Corona Virus-infected on Saturday. Her husband, son, daughter-in-law and 3-year-old grand-daughter tested positive on Sunday. Apart from this, a 39-year-old woman from RNA Broadway, taxi-driver from Nityanand Nagar and a security guard from Medhitya Nagar area in Mira Road are confirmed as Corona infected patients.
While the 39-year-old woman is housewife, the taxi driver was working with Airline Company for to-and-fro foreign tourists from the airport to hotel and vice-versa. His 85-year-old mother and other family members have been sent to quarantine cell. A woman’s family members and neighbours have also been isolated. A security guard was on duty at Medhitya Height in Medhitya Nagar, where on Thursday a corona positive patient was found. He was much closed with the 42-year-old infected person.
Earlier on Saturday, two females from the Bhayandar area found positive for COVID-19. A 56-year-old from female from S V Road, Bhayandar(East) and another senior citizen lady from Narayan Nagar area of Bhayandar(West) found to be positive. On Friday, one male at Navghar area was found corona infected.
Four out of five from the same family have been found infected with COVID-19 on March 29.
Corona Virus update from Mira-Bhayandar
As per records, a total of 825 people in MBMC jurisdiction had been under home quarantine out of which more than 305 have completed the 14 days, till Sunday. However, 439 people were still under home quarantine.
Nevertheless, 41 are under observation at the quarantine cell in Bhayandar (east) and 40 people have been admitted to isolation wards(34 at Tembha Hospital, three at Kasturba Hospital, two patients at Kokilaben Hospital and one is at the Seven Hills Hospital). Out of the 86 swab samples sent for testing, 39 turned out to be negative, 15 positive and 32 reports were still awaited. Tembha Hospital has been converted as 100 beds COVID-19 only hospital.
