Mira-Bhayandar recorded 11 more cases of coronavirus on Monday, taking the total tally to 47 in the twin city. The number of corona-positive patients here has increased from 36 to 47. The virus has so far claimed two lives here and two have been cured and discharged. Mira Bhayandar has been put in the ‘Red Zone’ by the state government.
“As many as 11 new cases have come up today, including 7 in Naya Nagar and one each from Poonam Sagar, Poonam Cluster, Silver Park and Beverly Park area of Mira Road,” said Chandrakant Dange, Commissioner, MBMC.
He said the total number of coronavirus positive cases in Mira-Bhayandar has risen to 47.
“Two are new positive patients whereas nine positive COVID-19 infected are found on Monday are either relatives or close contact of old positive persons,” added Rajkumar Gharat, PRO, MBMC.
A 58-year-old lady from Poonam Sagar is admitted at Bhakti Vedanta Hospital whereas other positive patients are at Pandit Bhimsen Joshi COVID-19 Hospital in Bhayandar(west). Another new positive patient found in Silver Park is a 53-year-old female.
The entire state is under lockdown and massive survey and screening are underway to trace the contagion.
The area-wise positive cases in Mira-Bhayandar include: If we talk about Mira Road then Naya Nagar 14; Pooja Nagar 4; RNA Broadway 3; Medthiya Nagar, Nityanand Nagar, Beverly Park, Vinay Nagar 2 each, whereas Poonam Cluster, Poonam Sagar, and Silver Park on each. In Bhayandar (West), Narayan Nagar is most affected with 5 positive cases whereas Shiv Sena Gali has 1 case of corona positive case. In the same way, at Bhayandar (East), the most infected with COVID-19 patients are in Goddev area. Here seven positive cases are found so far followed by S V Road, Navghar and MI Masjid area with one each patient.
Corona Virus Update
With 23 persons have been identified and quarantine on Monday, a total number of quarantined reached to 1034. In which, 371 people had completed 14 days compulsory quarantine period. However, there are still 663 people under the observation of the administration. In which, 477 are under home quarantine and 126 people are in quarantine cell.
There are 60 patients in the isolation ward under MBMC. Fifty-three are in Pandit Bhimsen Joshi COVID Hospital, two are in Kokilaben Ambani Hospital, three in Seven Hills Hospital whereas one is admitted at Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray Trauma Care Center at Jogeshwari.
Out of total 225 swabs sent for investigation, 47 are positive, 120 results are negative whereas 49 reports are still awaited. However, with some doubt, nine swabs are resent to repeat the test. There are 43 active coronavirus cases in Mira Bhayandar.
Under the Lockdown 2.0, the country will be divided or classified into three key zones-Red, Orange and Green. Derived from the colour of the traffic lights, these zones will support the cluster containment plan announced by the government, while opening up the rest of the places. As there are more than 43 active positive cases Mira Bhayandar, it falls in the Red zone. It means, during the lockdown extension, all activity on road to a halt. The area will see severe restrictions with zero or no activity allowed.
